How is densitometry performed?
This technique is performed quickly and does not pose any discomfort for those who undergo it. The patient should lie on their back and remain as relaxed and still as possible. The scanner goes through the entire body emitting low-dose X-ray radiation and takes an x-ray of the spine and hip.
How is an ultrasound performed?
This non-invasive diagnostic test, since it does not require injections or needles, does not carry any risk to the health of the patients since there is no exposure to radiation. It allows images to be taken using sound waves or ultrasound, providing complementary information to that of other tests.
