Surgical treatment of anal abscess in Tenerife and Gran Canaria
An anal abscess debridement is an infectious disease located in the perianal area. It usually appears due to infections in the anal glands, but also due to anal fissures or complicated haemorrhoids.
At Instituto Proctológcio Dr. Padrón a surgical treatment is carried out to drain the abscess.
When the abscess is diagnosed, if it is very incipient and not consolidated, there may be a danger of opening it, which will mean it will not drain completely, so in these cases, the antibiotic treatment is started and after a few days the abscess is drained.
Although after the drainage the corresponding cures and controls must be performed, to check whether there is a residual fistula, the surgical treatment is more complex, because the fistulous path must be located and laid flat. It can also be done with local anaesthesia.
