Specialist in Rheumatology
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of La Laguna in 1986. Specialist in Rheumatology with MIR training at the University Hospital of La Princesa in Madrid.
Doctor of Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Postdoctoral Fellow of the Department of Vascular Biology at the Scripps Institute in San Diego, California. Professor of Medicine at the University of La Laguna since 2011.
He combines his healthcare work with undergraduate teaching and leads an independent research group that studies the pathophysiology of rheumatoid arthritis and the involvement of adhesion molecules in the inflammatory response.
